In Cebu City, former first lady and current Ilocos Norte Rep Imelda Marcos was about to sing to her audience in Capitol Social Hall when she lost balance and fell on the carpeted floor last Saturday.

Governor Garcia invited the Marcos family for the month-long celebration of the 442nd founding anniversary of Cebu. Mrs. Marcos gave a small speech, after thanking Garcia, she proceeded to recall her visits to Cebu with then president, Ferdinand Marcos.

She walked around the stage and reached the edge of the platform while getting ready to sing, then she lost her balance.

Her son, Senator BongBong Marcos, daughter and Ilocos Norte Governor Imee Marcos and Cebu Governor Gwendolyn Garcia rushed to the former first lady’s side but she was strong enough to get up on her own.

She confirmed she was fine then proceeded to sing a famous Cebuano ballad, “Matud Nila”, a duet along with Rep. Pablo Garcia of Cebu’s 2nd district, Governor Gwendolyn’s father.
