Kurt Busch completed a sweep of NASCAR’s May stay at Charlotte Motor Speedway and kept Chip Ganassi from a Memorial Day sweep of his own.

On Sunday night, Busch beat Jamie McMurray out of the pits on his last stop and led the final 19 laps under green to win the Coca-Cola 600 at Charlotte Motor Speedway.

Before turning his signature victory lap in reverse, Busch shouted on his team radio, “We’re going to the real victory lane in Charlotte.”

Busch had celebrated a week earlier in a makeshift victory lane on the frontstretch after winning the All-Star Race (and a $1 million bonus). Since Kasey Kahne in 2008, he became the first driver to sweep the events in NASCAR’s premier series at Charlotte.

Ganassi said, “It was a great race, and Jamie did a great job. My old buddy (Roger) Penske beat me tonight.”
