Despite comments on the lower ratings of this season’s American Idol, the top 2 contestants of the show were able to snag contracts really fast. Both Lee Dewyze, paint salesman turned this year’s American Idol, and his runner-up Crystal Bowersox already secured their respective recording contracts just a few moments after the final night last Wednesday, May 26.

Dewyze has just signed a contract with 19 Recordings Limited and RCA Records, following fellow American Idol contestants Chris Daughtry and Adam Lambert. His first single would be a cover of U2′s “Beautiful Day” which ha performed during final night.

Bowersox, on the other hand, will be joiing Kris Allen, Jordin Sparks and Allison Iraheta in 19 Recordings Limited and Jive Records. Her first single would be a cover of Patty Griffin’s “Up to the Mountain.”

Based on their labels history with American Idol contestants, they’d probably release their albums by the end of this year. Each of their first singles are already out on iTunes and are bing played on the radio stations.
