New England Patriots wide receiver Randy Moss was traded to the Minnesota Vikings for a third-round pick in the 2011 NFL draft.

The deal was made official Wednesday morning and Moss will be playing for his new team against the New York Jets on Monday.

Moss will not be getting a contract extension because of the trade. The Patriots did not offer an extension but the Vikings are very likely to offer Moss a new deal.

Moss spent the first seven years of his career in Minnesota, catching 574 passes for 9,142 yards and 90 TDs from 1998-2004.
