It was a celebrating night for the land of MMA and soccer, Brazil. Three of four of their feared fighters went toe to toe with tough contenders, familiar opponents and dominated, ah…sweet revenge.

Undoubtedly the best MMA fighter ever, it seems no fighter could snap the Spider’s winning streak as he weny on a 14th straight win and 9th successful consecutive title defense. Facing Okami for the second time, Silva avenged the last time he’s lost. In January 2006, Silva lost by disqualification due to an illegal kick that rendered Okami unable to finish the fight. This time around, Silva finished Okami via TKO in the second round.

Mauricio Shogun Rua who lost to Forrest Griffin when he debuted in the UFC four years ago exploded let go a barrage of vicious punches in first round. Griffin couldn’t recover from the onslaught and the ref had to put a stop to the fight as he was getting pummeled to the ground.

Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira who appeared shaky against a young Brendan Schaub until he chanced upon a heavy blow that sent Schaub face first on the canvass.

Edson Barboza and Ross Pearson ended the match in the score cards in favor of Barboza.

It would’ve been a perfect night for the Brazilian had Luis Cane beaten Stanislav Nedkov who pounced on the Brazilian for the win.
