Electronic Arts Inc. (EA) will be bringing the popular virtual role-playing game “The Sims” to Facebook.

EA announced during the 2011 (Electronic Entertainment Expo) E3 that it would release a Facebook version of it’s popular The Sims title and will rename it to The Sims Social. The Facebook Sims trailer made it clear that it wanted to be much more lively and actively social than games like Farmville.

EA did not give a release date but said it has been developing the game for about a year.
